Just over two weeks since it was announced that Dathan Ritzenhein would be taking part in the Virgin London Marathon, the American has been forced to withdraw from the race on April 17 with a persistent ankle injury.
The 28-year-old, who was added to the elite men’s line-up two weeks ago, was aiming to smash his personal best of 2:10:00 on the speedy 26.2 mile course.
